This is great! I read the article in the paper and was surprised that there are support groups around here in NWI. I need some suggestions for my son. He is a single parent and feels so lost. My grandson is 8 yrs old and was diagnosed with autism at the age of three.
Linda, there are lots of support systems in our area. From meet up groups...to monthly meetings. It's a great way to meet other parents and learn ways to deal w/ our kiddos. It's a very lonely world as an autism parent, it's vital to have a strong support system! The interenet is the greatest resource to find local groups, tell him to check out ASNCI, INFEAT, IBK, groups like that, and see if one of them seems like a nice fit! If there's anything I can do to help please ask!
